Happy Monday and Happy Chinese New Year!

It is Year of the Ox.  A year to be tenacious, persevere and remian undaunted in each of your endeavors.  Throw open your windows and let the greatness of the New Year’s changing winds fill the nooks inside your home.

Eat long noodles for long life, sweet oranges for a sweet life, fish for prosperity and luck.  Wear lots of red, and declutter your heart, mind and home.

Namasté

Jim: Aha, Year of the Snake…. you are wise, a deep thinker, ambitious, calm, strong and purposeful. Hope you ate long noodles and oranges.

We celebrated the New Year in school yesterday. I read that Chinese parents give money to their children in red packets, so I made some red packets and put some school money in them for each of my students.

My ex-husband and I ate at a Chinese restaurant on our honeymoon. We were born in the same year, and so had the same sign. While waiting for our meal to be served, we determined that we were both boars (or pigs.) Sadly for us, our horoscope said, “You are prone to marital strife when marrying the same sign, so avoid other boars.” Gulp…
